These images are from the half way point review at the Sozosha College of Design 14th International Workshop. The theme of the workshop this year is the value of 100yen.
The students taking part in the course were from a variety of places around the world, in total 17 international students, (7 Malaysian, 3 Singaporean, 1 Indonesian, 1 Taiwanese, 1 Norwegian, 1 Sweedish, 1 Latvian and 2 British) and 8 Japanese and 3 interpreters.


The main languages throughout the course were Japanese and English and all the presentations had to be interpreted into both languages.

This summer I have been accepted to attend this design course in Osaka, Japan. While studying at the college I will be living with a Japanese family and learning a variety of different skills. After the course I am planning to travel around the rest of Japan and learn as much as I can about the culture and lifestyle. Watch this space for more info about my trip!

More edits in Indesign

Below are some images from my current project in Vlissingen, South Holland. Making the presentation in Indesign makes the whole process a lot easier and looks professional.


As well as presenting uni work, Indesign is good for playing with layouts for other documents such as my cv, as seen below.

For my final focus week i was looking at presentation styles and layouts and learning to use Indesign. Above is a loop with some slides from my previous presentation, and below shows the edited version done in Indesign. Indesign is much better to use because i could set a template and then drop the images and text within the same area on the page, as well as working around titles and logos.

Project 2 Year 2- DARE

For this project i was asked to visit either a finished or soon to be finished dockland area in Europe. I choose to go to Edinburgh, Leith Docks. The title of the project almost explains what the project is about, i was dared to change or add to the finished dockland area.
Below is some information about the location and history of Leith Docks.

After visiting Leith Docks, i found it was made up of 4 key areas;
The 4 areas are;
Albert Dock
Queens Dock
Ocean Terminal and the
Scottish Executive

I DARE to...

...to put a rotating bridge in the centre of Leith Docks, to connect the 4 areas with each other.

DARE in edinburgh

The rotating bridge will be powered by a wind turbine located in the centre of the bridge. The average wind speed in Edinburgh is 9knots. This is equal to 10.4mph. The bridge will rotate at 0.9mph. To cross the bridge will take 12minutes.
